Title
Fundraising From the Inside Out: How to Build an Organizational Culture Where Fundraising Thrives

Presenter
Amy Varga, President, The Varga Group

During this highly interactive session, you will explore the hidden truth that fundraising success does not start by focusing on the donors “out there” but instead on your internal team and even within yourself. You have probably heard the famous Peter Drucker “culture eats strategy for breakfast” quote, and yet still struggle with how to create a culture where fundraising thrives in your organization. Through interactive exercises, we will unpack why we still feel uncomfortable about fundraising even when we believe in the cause we are raising money for. Walk away with a better understanding of your personal money blueprint, ways to shift your thinking and feelings around money, and tools for bringing the conversation back to your organization.

Learning objectives

  • 7 key questions to ask to unlock a culture of philanthropy at your organizaiton
  • How to become your organization's Chief Culture Officer
  • What limiting beliefs do you hold that is holding your fundraising back

Area of Nonprofit Excellence - Resource Development

Every learning opportunity NAO offers is aligned with one of nine areas of our Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence that NAO believes are critical to every nonprofit’s effectiveness and success. Diversity, equity and inclusion are essential for a thriving, effective and successful nonprofit; therefore, DE&I is embedded across all nine areas.

This event focuses on Resource Development. For additional resources in this category, visit: Resource Development.
