Financial policies are important to every aspect of a nonprofit and can provide guidance for all departments. Hear how your internal policies can be designed and implemented to improve internal controls, as well as hear ideas on how to enforce policies throughout the organization. We'll consider how compliance could affect and shape your financial policies and explore ways to implement policies in your organization.

About the Presenter

Karin Wandtke, Shareholder, McDonald Jacobs


Karin is an Oregon CPA with over 25 years of experience as an auditor and accountant.  Karin specializes in working on the financial statements of nonprofit organizations. She also works with small to medium-sized businesses.

Karin received a Master’s in Business Administration from Portland State University and a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, Accounting degree from University of Oregon.

Karin is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants.  She serves on the Board of Directors of Camp Fire Columbia as the Board Chair and has served on the Finance Committee and/or Board since 2003. She has previously served on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Audit and Compliance Committee of Albertina Kerr Centers. Additionally, Karin previously served on the Accounting Advisory Boards of both the University of Oregon and Portland State University.

Jessica Yoder, Assurance Principal, McDonald Jacobs


Jessica is an Oregon CPA with over 13 years of experience in public accounting with expertise in nonprofit organizations, manufacturing and closely held businesses. Jessica is the firm’s data extraction expert and oversees training for the firm's employees. Jessica’s focus is nonprofit audits and reviews including Single Audits. 

Jessica received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Accounting, minors in Business and Business Information Systems from Goshen College.

Jessica is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants. Jessica serves on the Board of Directors for Everence Association Inc. and previously served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Schoolhouse Supplies, Inc. and continues to serve on the finance committee.
