Capacity Development Planning for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Cliff Jones, Consultant, Capacity Building Partnerships
Become more effective at equity and inclusion than you are today! Join us to begin the new decade by strategizing your individual and organizational equity and inclusion development!
Our communities and organizations have many forms of visible and invisible differences. Working effectively across differences is critical for every nonprofit and the world we live in. Differences in geographical base, access to resources, gender, race, ability, age, religion, sexual orientation and others present challenges in service delivery, board and organizational development and the achievement of our missions. Leadership and organizational development capacity skills and cross-cultural relationships include ways we bridge differences and build collaborations that support our organizations and communities to thrive and grow. These challenges call for our best skills in building communication and partnering across differences.
In this session, we will focus on building capacity strategically so that you and your organization will have a broader equity and inclusion impact than you have now. We will focus on three synergistic competencies critical to develop concurrently:
- Increasing awareness and knowledge
- Taking action and changing behavior
- Transforming systems to support equity and inclusion
We will also review 18 essential skills for building individual and group capacity and concrete next steps to advance your development.
