The board you have is the board you build! In this session, we will explore fundamental board concepts to help you build a self-governing board and to be a gold-star board member! If you are interested in strategies for recruiting engaged and informed board members and exploring how to develop your board’s capacity, don’t miss this session!

We want to help you think creatively about developing your leadership pipeline. You will leave with practical tools that you can adapt and apply to your organization and sustain your board over the long haul.

Learning Objectives:

  • Actionable strategies for board recruitment.
  • Tools for basic board maintenance.

This session will be great for board members who want a refresher on important board basics and nonprofit leaders who want to work effectively with their boards for greater mission impact!

Area of Nonprofit Excellence - Governance

Every learning opportunity NAO offers is aligned with one of nine areas of our Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence that NAO believes are critical to every nonprofit’s effectiveness and success. Diversity, equity and inclusion are essential for a thriving, effective and successful nonprofit; therefore, DE&I is embedded across all nine areas.

This event focuses on Governance. For additional resources in this category, visit: Governance.
