Event Description
Title
Moving Beyond Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Incorporating Justice into your Mission
Presenter
Miriam Cummins, MGC Consulting Services
Advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in our organizations is critically important to the success of our nonprofits and the communities we serve. As nonprofit leaders, once we have embarked on our EDI journey, we must next deepen our understanding of Justice and how we can incorporate it into our mission, operations, programs, and more. In this session, we will explore what Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) look like in our organization and how these core values are best implemented. We will compare and contrast what different organizational processes and procedures might look like before and after alignment with JEDI principles, and how we can further incorporate JEDI practices into our work. We all have the capacity, regardless of how big or small our organization is, to center Justice in our work.
Please note: This course is intended for nonprofit staff, board, or volunteer members who already have a basic understanding of the definition(s) and importance of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and who are looking for intermediate-level strategies to implement in their organizations. (The presenter will focus less on "what" and "why" and more on "how.")
For accommodation requests, please contact us at training@nonprofitoregon.org. Advanced notice of at least 10 days is appreciated.
