Presenter
Steve Hanamura, Owner, Hanamura Consulting, Inc.

As the field of diversity, inclusion and equity continue to grow, it is becoming more apparent that we need to understand the importance of creating safety on the job if we expect co-workers to engage in truthful and respectful conversations with one another. A key inhibitor to having open dialogue with each other is our lack of understanding in how to engage with colleagues who come from different cultural backgrounds. There is a hesitancy not only because we lack the skills, but we fear offending our colleagues. This ninety-minute seminar will help participants expand their ability to create a safe climate for conversations.

During this session, participants will:

  • Explore methods to create an environment where truthful and respectful conversations can occur
  • Study the connection between power, authority, and differing cultural backgrounds
  • Learn three tips to work through difficult conversations
