This event is provided by Gateway to College National Network
Oregon has the 3rd-lowest high school graduation rate in the nation, and one-quarter of our state’s high schools fail to graduate one-third or more of their students on time. At a time where employers are increasingly experiencing skill shortages and difficulty with finding qualified workers, unemployment levels for opportunity youth remains high.
Please join us at our Gateway Gathering at 12:00 PM on May 24 at the Northwest Health Foundation in Old Town Chinatown. A panel of local business leaders will discuss skills gaps in their sectors, and how a focus on training and hiring opportunity youth might help narrow the gap.
Gateway Gatherings are an opportunity to advance important conversations and we hope that you will lend your voice. Refreshments and dessert will be served. Brown bag lunches are welcome and encouraged.
