Project Impact Oregon Summit: Developing the ability to prove and improve impact through evaluation
All of us who work in and with the nonprofit sector need a way both to prove and improve our impact. We need data to demonstrate that what we are doing is making a difference. We also need data to challenge us, illuminate areas where we can get better, and show us the way forward.
Over the last five years, hundreds of leaders from organizations throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington have gone through a process of evaluating their own impact through Project Impact and Listening Lab cohorts. Increasingly, these organizations are seeing the value of doing evaluation for themselves and involving others in a participatory process that engages people, advances equity, and makes an organization more responsive and more strategic.
The inaugural Project Impact Oregon Summit will bring together leaders from nonprofit organizations, community organizations, governmental agencies, and charitable foundations to share knowledge, experiences, and ideas and to sharpen our practices of building capacity for evaluating impact.
The summit features concurrent affinity tracks followed by a general session with a series of 11-minute presentations of learning from the field. This interactive and engaging format will conclude with a networking reception. An optional “Showcase” of recently graduated Project Impact cohort members will follow.
Join us for this conversation and shared learning experience where we hope to:
- Connect - Inform and inspire the practice of doing participatory, self-studies of impact in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
- Improve - Bring forward emerging lessons, challenges to adoption, and the intersection with equity principles.
- Advance - Illuminate possibilities for self-study evaluation in the future.
Who should attend?
Track #1: Sustaining Practices of Evaluation: This affinity track is for Project Impact and Listening Lab alums who are working to continue a culture of learning in their teams and organizations.
Track #2: Designing Evaluation - An Introduction: This affinity track is for leaders who want to understand the fundamental principles of designing and implementing an evaluation of impact. Please register for this track if you are not a funder representative or alum.
Track #3: Building Capacity for Evaluation: This affinity track is specifically for funders who are supporting the work of organizations to study their own impact. This session is intended to create peer-to-peer connections for funders who are leading, investing, and working towards this aim.
