Join your colleagues and all of us at NAO’s Annual Meeting to network, hear about the nonprofit sector’s accomplishments in 2019, and be the first to get a preview of exciting upcoming projects slated for 2020! Importantly, you’ll get to meet the four new board members voted in by NAO nonprofit members: Noreen Dunnells, President and CEO – United Way of Lane County; Kecia Kubota, Executive Director – Camp Fire Central Oregon; Chris Watson, Executive Director – Warm Springs Community Action Team; and Amory Zschach, Strategic Communications Manager – National Indian Child Welfare Association. We’ll also be celebrating and thanking the following board members terming out who have made huge contributions to NAO and the sector over the past few years: Nancy Arriaga Ramirez, Community Member; Ian Lombard, Managing Partner, BroadPeak Capital; Chris Otis, Executive Director, SMART Reading; Michelle Neal, Consultant; and Jen Rusk, Consultant, Rusk Coaching & Consulting.

NAO’s annual meeting brings together nonprofit, community, and business leaders who are vested and invested in the great work we all do to improve the lives of all Oregonians.

Attendance at NAO’s Annual Meeting is free for NAO Members, but registration is required. Non-Members are welcome to attend with a $15 fee.

A live-stream option will be available for those who are unable to attend in person. 

About the Presenters

Jim White, Executive Director, Nonprofit Association of Oregon 

Jim currently serves as the Executive Director of the Nonprofit Association of Oregon. He began this assignment in October of 2012. Jim is deeply committed to social change and has worked in the nonprofit sector both domestically and internationally for more than 20 years. He has a passion for affecting systemic change in the way that the public, private and nonprofit sectors work together to support and strengthen civil society. He is specifically skilled on working to build alliances and partnerships with mission and results driven outcomes in mind.

Before joining NAO, Jim worked for Mercy Corps for 15 years, most recently as the Vice President of Operations. He has also worked for the International Organization for Migration and the American Red Cross. Jim earned a BS in Engineering Technology from Temple University and a MA in Central Eurasian Area Studies from Indiana University.

Celeste Hill-Thomas, Vice President, Nonprofit Association of Oregon Board

Celeste Hill-Thomas is the Executive Director of Mid-Columbia Health Foundation. Celeste was born in Everett, Washington and raised in John Day, Oregon. Celeste earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business/Economics from Eastern Oregon University. Celeste lives in The Dalles and enjoys the small community. In the past, Celeste had worked in the Financial Services field with emphasis in Project Management, Investor Relations and Marketing.

Richard Jung, Secretary, Nonprofit Association of Oregon Board

Richard Jung currently serves as the Executive Director for the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus. Richard Jung brings over 30 years of experiences from both sides of the non-profit spectrum - funder and fundee. He has served on numerous boards and committees ranging from Funders Concerned about AIDS, Ms. Foundation Women in HIV Committee to serving as the Vice Chair of the Denver County Cultural Council which ran the funding process for Tier 3 Arts and Science Programs in Denver County.
