About the Presenter

Liana Avendaño, Project Manager, Construct The Present

Liana Avendaño (they/them) is a facilitator that approaches their work from the lens of being a non binary, queer, neurodivergent, Mexican child of immigrants. They are from Los Angeles, California, currently living in Portland, Oregon. Growing up, they spent every summer at their mother's work, a nonprofit legal aid in a low income Latino community. As soon as they could read, they were volunteering and learning about the inequities that existed in their community. This is what inspired them to be passionate about doing the work to create a more equitable world. Liana is part of the LGBTQIA+ community and is dedicated to sharing their knowledge about the queer and non binary experience to create a more inclusive world and workplace. Additionally, Liana teaches ways for companies to accommodate disabled individuals based on what they have experienced as an adult with ADHD. In their personal life, Liana is an artist and musician, with two cats. They enjoy spending days floating on the river or lounging at the beach when they are home in LA.
