Intercultural Communication Institute (ICI)

Continental Breakfast & Networking at 8:00
Presentation at 8:30

An equity lens or assessment is a tool for analysis, planning, decision making, and evaluation.

These tools can be used to analyze the internal, external, and foundational elements of policies or programs on under-served, marginalized, and diverse individuals and groups to identify appropriate accommodation to eliminate barriers.

They can also be used to evaluate interpersonal engagement and how well people work effectively with people who are different from themselves.

Through explanation and demonstration of two tools:

We’ll explore strategies to:

  • Use equity lens tools & equity assessments to support your work
  • Broaden the roles of individuals, organizations and constituents in assessment
  • Make assessment part of the learning process and use it to serve developmental purposes rather than sorting and selecting purposes

About the Network

Most nonprofit leaders want to create inclusive work environments, address social and economic disparities, and engage diverse communities in their programing, yet the path to achieve greater equity is not always clear, and the work can be isolating. Equity and Inclusion Leaders Network brings nonprofit leaders together to share best practices, connect among peers, and engage in deeper learning with thought leaders and practitioners in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
