Presenter
Anne Wallestad, President & CEO, BoardSource

In times of change, nonprofit leaders-- board members and executives-- face big questions. Questions about their future, their values, and their willingness to advocate for the issues that matter most to their mission and the people they serve:

  • What will this mean for our mission and the people we serve?
  • How might our strategies and approaches need to change to reflect our new reality?
  • When and how should we be organizing for change?

These are the moments where boards are called to lead. Join Anne Wallestad, President and CEO of BoardSource, for reflection and discussion on this moment in nonprofit leadership-- what we can learn from what's happening across the sector and how to translate that into positive momentum and action here in Oregon.

About the Presenter

Anne Wallestad was appointed president & CEO by BoardSource’s board of directors in the summer of 2013, after having served as a key member of BoardSource’s leadership team for more than five years. Since taking the helm in 2013, she has overseen a period of significant growth and change for the organization, including the launch of several new leadership initiatives and the successful implementation of a more streamlined model of program delivery.

A seasoned nonprofit professional, Anne has held leadership positions with a number of local and national organizations. Prior to joining BoardSource’s leadership team in December 2008, she served as the vice president of development at the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund and Leadership Institute, where she helped facilitate – from the staff perspective – a strategic restructuring of the groups’ boards of directors and leadership. Anne is an experienced trainer and facilitator and has worked with boards and volunteer networks to strengthen volunteer management, events management, and fundraising skills. She has held leadership posts at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa; the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network; and the Human Rights Campaign, where she was responsible for partnering with and training leaders in communities targeted for organizational expansion and growth.

Anne serves on the board of Capital City Public Charter School and the regional advisory board for Drake University, where she earned a BA degree in sociology and English.
