Do you want to create a more inclusive organization for transgender and non-binary (TNB) employees and stakeholders? If so, join fellow nonprofit executives, board members, and those on their way to joining them understand the role you can play to dismantle workplace barriers endured by TNB stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to network and learn about cutting edge leadership, culture, and design strategies through a mini-lecture, a small group activity, and a group discussion. After the session, you will leave empowered to take your transgender & nonbinary inclusion efforts to the next level. The topics discussed work particularly well with leaders ready to enrich their awareness, knowledge, and leadership skills.   • Understand who transgender and non-binary people are, and why they experience higher rates of poverty, un-and-underemployment, and discrimination as employees.

  • Practice ways you can adapt and build upon promising strategies available through small and large group activities.
  • Commit to one personal action you can take after this learning opportunity.

About the Presenter

Jax Wheately, CPA, Rainbow Tax & Accounting

Jax received their bachelor’s in accounting from Portland State University. They have lived in the Portland area for forty years and has been working here in non profit accounting for over twenty years. Jax is active in the local community, both as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Portland Area Business Association.

Over the past two decades, Rhodes has worked across a broad range of sectors with leaders from government, non-profit, and for-profit organizations located in almost every state. Rhodes' life’s work is focused on improving the lives of LGBTQ people – especially those living at the margins.
