This session will help participants attract the right board members that will assist their fundraising efforts; better understand and manage expectations of Board fundraising; and take the fear and mystery out of fundraising.
Participants will also receive several tools to take back to their organization to help in their implementation of the concepts presented!

About the Presenter
|Clarinda Hanson-White, Consultant, Fundraising On A Mission
Clarinda brings practical fundraising solutions to Oregon nonprofits. Her approach to development has empowered board members, staff and volunteers by taking the mystery and fear out of fundraising. For over 25 years, Clarinda has worked with small and large nonprofits implementing new strategies for improving fundraising efforts. Clarinda finds particular satisfaction in helping board members identify where their natural skill set will help fundraising efforts. Her experience in nonprofits includes acting as the interim development director, capital campaigns, strategic plans, fundraising assessments, corporate sponsorships, membership drives, development of fundraising plans, special events, prospect identification, donor solicitation and facilitation of board retreats. Clarinda is available as a consultant or an interim development director to help your organization reach its full fundraising potential.
|James Phelps, Consultant, JKP Fundraising, LLC
James K. Phelps, J.D., ACFRE is a graduate of the University of Oregon and the University of Oregon School of Law. He began his professional development career in 1990. He worked as the Executive Director of Lane County AIDS Hospice Services and Salem Outreach Shelter. He also served as the Library Development Officer at Fort Vancouver Regional Library District, Major & Planned Giving Manager at Planned Parenthood of the Columbia-Willamette and Development Director at the American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon. Phelps started his own development consultant business, JKP Fundraising, LLC, in 2011. Phelps enjoys helping nonprofits to achieve their dreams. He has served as both interim executive director and interim development director as well as conducting board trainings, organizational assessments and feasibility studies in assisting nonprofits.
