During this session, you will learn the following:

  • The principles of effective board governance, how it is a prerequisite to and complements a highly functional management team;
  • What needs to be developed at both the governance and management levels to guide organizational performance; and 
  • How to implement an effective approach and then measure its contribution to meeting your organization's purpose and desired objectives

Target Audience:
This training is best suited for board members and nonprofit executives.

Pre-session materials:
To best prepare for this session, please fill out pages 2-4 of these worksheets. This is designed to stimulate your thinking about Board work. Pages 6 and 7 will be discussed during the session.

About the Presenter

James Lussier,  Founder & Principal Consultant, The Lussier Center/TLC

 

Jim Lussier currently serves as President of The Lussier Center (TLC) which specializes in providing guidance to organizations on governance effectiveness, leadership development and strategic planning, all directed at organizational performance excellence in all types of organizations in Oregon and internationally. He previously served as the President and CEO of St. Charles Health System.
