Equity and Inclusion Leaders Network

Building Multicultural Leadership

Ecotrust Conference Center 721 NW 9th Avenue
Portland

About this event

Guadalupe Guajardo, PhD, Senior Consultant

Nonprofit Association of Oregon

Continental Breakfast & Networking at 8:00
Presentation at 8:30

Shifting demographics in the communities served by nonprofits calls for greater multicultural leadership. More than ever, it is important for nonprofits to meet the diversity goals reflected in their missions. Together, we will explore how to create an environment that welcomes new leaders and reveals in-house talent.

Welcoming and embracing new leaders does not have to be a mystery, but it often requires rethinking our mindset. This interactive workshop will explore effective models of leadership and organizational culture that promote leadership from within.

Together we will explore:

  • Creating an environment that welcomes and embraces new leaders
  • Steps to an expanded mindset
  • Where to start: reflecting and sharing your own experiences
  • Using group wisdom to surface best practices
  • Identifying your “personal next step”
