2015 HAPA `EA Cross Cultural Awareness Story Teller Series- Kecia Kubota

63095 Deschutes Market Road Bend

About this event

HAPA`EA is the local chapter of the Asian Pacific Islander Employee Association (APAEA) of the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District which sponsors the 2015 HAPA`EA Cross Cultural Awareness Storyteller Series. Its goal is to provide an open forum that supports learning about the many cultures in our community and other places. In Hawai`i, HAPA means crossing cultures. Our February speaker is Kecia Kubota, a native of Hawai`i and the Executive Director of Camp Fire Central Oregon. She will share her experiences of growing up in Hawai`i as well as her work in Central Oregon that teaches young people to appreciate and accept diversity, respect and include others, and stand up to bullying. How these important lessons build character and lead to a fulfilling, healthy and balanced life are some of the inspiring points to be shared by Kecia. This is a free event open to the community and no registration is required. The series will present speakers monthly at the Deschutes National Forest Service Office at 63095 Deschutes Market Road.
