Todd Kimball, Senior Financial & Accounting Consultant, CFO Selections

Does it ever seem like the finance department is the last to know? Program staff are off and running on a new business idea, creating an LLC and ready to purchase property. Development is spearheading a new capital campaign and promising donors new payment methods. Has anyone talked with Finance?

In this event, we will discuss the role of the CFO during periods of growth and innovation. In those seasons where new ventures are created, entities are formed and resources are diverted to fund a promising idea, it’s time for Finance to play a critical role. We’ll discuss how CFO’s can take the lead in assessing the impact on cash management, staffing, risk assessment, tax planning, entity formation, financial statement presentation, and perhaps most critical of all, helping assess the viability or profitability of the new project.
