About this event
This event is provided by United Way of Deschutes County
Turning Outward and Engaging My Community is a one day training offered by The Harwood Institute, hosted by the United Way of Deschutes County. During this training you will learn what it means to Turn Outward – to use the community, not your conference room, as your reference point for choices and action.
During the training you will also receive the Harwood Community conversation Guide and two learning and applying webinars. These tools will assist you in Turning Outward and making more intentional judgments and choices in creating change, to produce greater impact and relevance in your community.
Participants will learn how to:
• Achieve community impact and accelerate strategic organizational
change through Community Conversations.
• Authentically engage with the community to deeply understand them and
make more informed choices.
• Leverage their resources in a way that creates impact on a specific
issue while building the conditions for change.
• Reorient themselves toward the public and create new opportunities for community impact
• Align mission, resources, and strategies to the community’s capacity
so that efforts at community changes will have a greater chance of
succeeding.
Space is limited to 25 participants.
Registration is $500.
Central Oregon participants may apply for partial scholarships through the NNCO Scholarship Fund.
