“Sticky Stories: Use Stories to Recruit and Retain Top Fundraising
Talent” will be presented on Friday, February 12, Networking and lunch, 11 a.m. – Noon. Program, Noon to 1 p.m. The event will be held at the
Multnomah Athletic Club, 1849 SW Salmon Street, Portland, OR 97205. The event is sponsored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Oregon & Southwest Washington Chapter.

Engaged fundraisers engage donors. A unifying narrative engages and aligns fundraising departments helping them overcome chronic staff turnover, internal dynamics, misalignment and lack of cohesion. Expert fundraisers already know the power of stories to engage donors. Andrew Robinson, Brand Anthropologist at Drawn and Amy Varga, Principal of Varga Consulting will discuss how to apply the power of storytelling to internal cultures.

Andrew Robinson blends the art and science of human engagement to help
organizations deepen their relationships with the people they serve—beginning with the organization’s internal culture. He conducts and
translates research on engagement into narratives that captivate and align organizational cultures, and resonate with the audiences they seek to reach. Andrew teaches about the art and science of engagement at the University of Oregon.

For more than 16 years, Amy Varga has helped organizations, boards and
executives transform their approach to fundraising. She has helped launch two community fundraising certificate programs and teaches graduate students fundraising and organizational strategy at the University of Portland and Portland State University. Amy leads Varga Consulting where she focuses on fundraising strategy, board development and the importance of personal renewal in mission centered organizations.
