About this event

This event is provided by YWCA/Impact NW

This training will help participants define poverty and explore its causes
and effects. We will review national and local data on the demographics of
people living in poverty as well as risk factors that can make one more
vulnerable to economic instability (such as race, gender and subjective
social status). We will also explore the significance of the federal poverty
line and social attitudes toward the poor and their implications for people
living in poverty.

Presented by Dara Snyder, MSW (YWCA of Greater Portland) and Matt Chorpening, MSW (Impact NW)

*fulfills training required for 40-hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training
