Marc Smiley, Managing Partner
Solid Ground Consulting
Meet our new ED, networking, and lunch (for those attending the presentation) at 11:30; Presentation at 12:00
One of the most important factors for high-performing organizations is the strength in the relationship between the Board and the staff. The leadership provided by both of these groups is essential to the overall effectiveness of the organization. Yet most groups struggle to manage the tension that inherently exists between these two important teams.
This session will focus on clarifying the individual and shared roles that Board and staff members have in guiding the organization. It will highlight the differences between governance and management, and the critical lines of authority that support both. Finally, it will identify some key strategies for building and sustaining a strong team among all Board and staff members, and how they can work to support trust, accountability, and healthy interpersonal relationships.
