This comprehensive professional mediation training is designed for people
committed to solving conflict in their workplaces, organizations and
community. It provides the basic skills needed to become a facilitative
mediator, emphasizing the interest-based approach common in community dispute
resolution. Learn conflict theory and the stages of mediation and practice
conflict resolution tools including empathic listening, facilitating
negotiations, cross-cultural conflict management and more.
Training participants learn to be an impartial third party, manage highly
charged negotiations, and empower the clients to find solutions that meet
everyone’s needs. This training meets the Basic Mediation Curriculum
Standard as established by the Administrative Rules for Community Dispute
Resolution programs.
