“Gear Up Your Board for Major Gifts Fundraising: Shift from Special Events
and Asset Management to Philanthropic Fundraising” will be presented on
Friday, September 8 at the monthly luncheon presented by the Association of
Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Oregon & Southwest Washington Chapter.
Networking and luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by the
program from noon to 1 p.m. The event will be held at the Multnomah Athletic
Club, 1849 SW Salmon Street, Portland, OR 97205.

Program presenters Tom Wilson, Vice President, Campbell & Company, a
Portland-based national fundraising consulting firm and Tim Seydel, Vice
President for University Advancement, Eastern Oregon University will share
Eastern Oregon University’s path to success for its first-ever comprehensive
campaign, including an intensive and ongoing training of the University’s
Foundation Board. This interactive session will explore how EOU helped its
Foundation Trustees move from transactional event fundraising, to
philanthropic major gift fundraising, and created a unified story to inspire
trustees, donors, and staff.

The cost for the event is $35 for AFP and NWPGRT members, $25 for AFP Young
Professional members and $50 for nonmembers and guests. Tables of 6 are
