Building Movement Project's Race to Lead: Women of Color in the Nonprofit Sector Report Findings

Meyer Memorial Trust and the Nonprofit Association of Oregon invite you to attend a presentation of the findings from the Building Movement Project’s Race to Lead: Women of Color in the Nonprofit Sector Report. The research was conducted in the last two years and participants were from across the U.S., including Oregon. The report was released in early February.
Ofronama Biu, Senior Research Associate of the Building Movement Project will be in Portland to present the report to the nonprofit community. She will provide additional insights and perspectives into these research findings and their direct relevance to the efforts to make the nonprofit sector more inclusive and equitable. Ms. Biu will also invite the audience to participate in a discussion and share their thoughts around the findings and their own experiences. You won’t want to miss this event!

About the Presenter
Ofronama Biu, Senior Research Associate, Building Movement Project Ofronama Biu joined the Building Movement Project in 2018 as a Senior Research Associate in April 2018. She works on BMP’s national projects focused on leadership, including the Race to Lead reports, service and social change, and movement building. She also works on place-based projects in Detroit and New Mexico. Previously Ofronama was a Senior Research Associate at the NYC Labor Market Information Service at the CUNY Graduate Center where she directed research projects on trends impacting the social services and middle-skill healthcare workforce. Ofronama has over 10 years of experience in higher education and non-profit organizations. Her experience has included project management, program evaluation, partnership building, employer engagement, and direct service to participants. She also co-founded a nonprofit organization that connects youth to media professionals for skills-building and mentoring opportunities. Ofronama is a PhD candidate at the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at The New School. Her research interests include labor market and workforce development policies and racial stratification. She obtained a BA in Psychology from the NYU College of Arts and Science and a MPA from the NYU Wagner School of Public Service. |
