The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is very much top of mind right now and the situation is changing rapidly with updated information emerging frequently from the government and public health authorities. As Oregon's nonprofit state association, NAO wants to ensure that our nonprofit community feels supported especially at a time like this.

That said, NAO's webinar on the "Oregon's 2020 State of the Nonprofit Sector Report" scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, will be replaced with a timelier topic: "COVID-19: Legal and Insurance related Issues for Nonprofits to Consider."

NAO knows that the COVID-19 situation has a major impact on the work nonprofits deliver across the state, leading many to shut down programs and locations, cancel events and fundraisers, as well as start having staff work from home. Knowing what legal and insurance related ramifications these actions may or may not entail and how your organizations may or may not be protected is essential. We also know that there are economic stimulus packages being developed at the federal and state levels to blunt some of the trauma of the disruption of services and work caused by this pandemic.

If you're trying to understand your rights, trying to understand employment related legal issues or just realized that there was a clause in your insurance policy excluding claims due to disease, you need to attend this webinar. Join us to learn how to be best prepared in confronting these concerns for your nonprofit.

We know that you have many questions, so we will be allocating more time to the Q&A session so our panelists can answer them. Bring your legal and insurance-related questions and join the discussion or send them ahead of the webinar to [email protected].

In the interim, Matt Lokan of NAO's member partner Bliss Sequoia has prepared this short Q&A resource: Coronavirus insurance? Maybe, maybe not for nonprofits.

We are also working to bring you a session to help answer HR-specific questions–details to come.

A recording of this webinar will be available to all registered participants.

This webinar is made possible through the support of the Ford Family Foundation and NAO members!
