About this event
Depression is one of the most common mental health concerns and for some it can become overwhelming and at times paralyzing. Caregivers may feel unsure of where to begin when helping those who frequently feel depleted, helpless and ashamed of their struggles.
This workshop introduces participants to a variety of effective strategies that can be used to help an individual who is struggling with depression make positive changes. Depression will be reviewed within the current social context and will include analyzing the impact of new social norms on depression. Participants will learn practical strategies to help engage the depressed person on two levels: changing the negative relationship within oneself and changing interpersonal dynamics that perpetuate depression.
