Presented by Cascade Employers Association: Good supervisors are the first line of defense against employee disengagement and turnover. Yet only one third of all supervisors and managers are perceived to be strong leaders. This course will provide both new and seasoned team leads, supervisors, managers, and above the tools they need to be effective.
This comprehensive virtual training program is offered over four half days spread across four consecutive weeks. Each session equips participants with the essential skills to lead and motivate their teams effectively. Through interactive sessions, insightful discussions, and practical exercises, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to navigate the complexities of supervisory roles.
You can choose to attend the full program (four half-days) or just the first two half-days (part one). Participants who complete the entire program will receive a personalized certificate of completion.

Part Two, Day 1: Clear Direction, Effective Delegation, SMART Goals, and Lead Through Change
- Learn how to provide clear direction, delegate tasks effectively, and tie team efforts to the organization’s goals.
- Explore various models of delegation and develop practical skills for successful task assignment.
- Define and create SMART goals for your team’s development, ensuring alignment with individual and organizational objectives.
- Explore a strategic model for planning and implementing change, the importance of communication during change, and the stages humans experience as they transition through change.
Part Two, Day 2: Coaching, Performance Management, and Ethical HR Practices
- Develop a positive coaching approach to give effective feedback for performance improvement.
- Learn to build strong coaching relationships and overcome common challenges associated with providing feedback.
- Understand the concept of a performance gap and explore strategies for managing performance.
- Gain an overview of ethical HR practices and employment law, including common claims, discrimination, harassment, and employee leaves.
