Michael Balter, President Emeritus
Boys & Girls Aid
Presentation & Continental Breakfast at 8:00
Networking at 9:30
This session will begin by setting a context for a dialogue about ethics, leaders and relationships. We will address the challenges of dogmatic and laissez-faire approaches to ethics and using the shield of ethics for avoiding difficult, value-laden choices.
Next we will explore ethical dilemmas in four typical domains for nonprofit leaders:
- Market competitor relations
- Donor relations
- Political/government relations
- Organizational culture relations
Time spent in each domain will be based on audience interest, so participants are encouraged to bring classic ethical failure or success stories or a personal emerging ethical challenge to stimulate the discussion in one of these domains.
