Tapping the Power of Collaboration to Supercharge Your Grantseeking

The Ultimate Grants Toolkit Webinar

Friday, November 7, 2014
9:30-11:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time

A federal program officer was speaking for many 21st-century grantmakers when he said a few years ago: “Whether we require a partnership proposal or not, the truth is, if your proposal ain’t collaborative, it ain’t gonna be competitive!”

Thinking and working collaboratively “pays” in many ways for your grantseeking organization–whether a grantmaker requires it or not. But creating and sustaining meaningful partnership doesn’t get any less challenging when there’s a grant proposal at stake.

In this thought-provoking, down-to-reality session, we’ll take a close look at what “collaboration” means for healthy grantseeking–and how you can make it work for you. We’ll explore the issues, challenges, and benefits of thinking collaboratively in the community and learn the down-to-earth realities of pulling together a high-quality collaborative grant proposal. Topics covered include:

  • Five ways thinking collaboratively can supercharge your grantseeking success
  • “Cooperation” to “collaboration”: The partnership continuum
  • The four essential stages in the life cycle of a collaboration–what to expect and how to manage each
  • Five major steps to developing a collaborative grant proposal
  • Three foolproof tools for diagnosing partnership problems–and fixing them

BONUS: Collaboration Assessment Checklist – Use this powerful paper and online tool to identify what’s working well to support collaboration in your organization and community–and where a little extra attention could make a big difference.
