The Alberta Rose Theatre 3000 NE Alberta Street
Event Contact Person: Alley Frey

About this event

Live Wire Radio is Portland’s own nationally syndicated radio variety show. If you haven’t been to a Live Wire show before, here’s what you’re in for: it’s a bold, sometimes unusual, sometimes-dangerous-but-always-delightful mix of music, conversation and comedy. With beer.

Join us at the next live show! Some of our guests will include:

Joshua Wolf Shenk
An author and essayist for The Atlantic, Harper’s and Time, Joshua’s most recent book Powers of Two: Seeking the Essence of Innovation in Creative Pairs explores how creative duos produce the most revelatory work.

Dan Pashman
A humorist and dedicated non-foodie, Dan hosts the WNYC podcast The Sporkful as well as the web series “You’re Eating it Wrong.” His latest book is Eat More Better: How to Make Every Bite More Delicious.

Anis Mojgani
Two-time National Poetry Slam Champion and winner of the International World Cup Poetry Slam, Anis’ work has appeared on NPR, HBO and in three poetry collections on Write Bloody Publishing. Anis will give two dollars to anyone who can pronounce both his first and last name correctly.*
* Not really.

Praised by fellow musicians like Peter Buck of REM and Steve Wynn, as well as magazines like Billboard and Paste, Fernando Viciconte somehow manages to make his songs of dark despair and faint hope sound strangely uplifting. His latest studio album, his eighth, is Leave the Radio On.

Tomo Nakayama
With his band Grand Hallway, Tomo Nakayama has produced lush chamber-pop that has inspired comparisons to Andrew Bird, Sigur Ros and even Nina Simone. His newest record is Fog on the Lens.

More to be announced!
