Job Description

The Community Arts Learning Manager manages, develops, and delivers arts learning programs for youth and adults that promote equitable access to creative exploration and skill development within the greater Corvallis community. The position focuses on arts learning program administration, planning, and community engagement.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee Community Arts Learning Programs that support equitable access and foster creative practice, including children’s art classes, series of classes, and after-school programs; adult community classes and workshops; community partner programs
  • Develop arts learning programs that support youth artists through opportunities to experience/develop personal identity and self-expression
  • Ensure program delivery follows Oregon youth safety procedures.
  • Work with Curator and Creative Resources Manager to integrate Community Arts Learning into other TAC programs
  • Recruit, train, and supervise contract teaching artists, teaching assistants, and volunteers, ensuring effective program delivery.
  • Manage arts activity services with community partners, maintain strong relationships and ensuresuccessful program outcomes.
  • Act as a community connector, building and maintaining relationships with other organizations and individuals to partner with TAC for arts learning experiences.
  • Coordinate and manage program administration, pricing, registration, and policy enforcement.
  • Develop and implement evaluation techniques for Community Arts Learning Programs
  • Provide exceptional customer service to program participants, especially parents and families.
  • Oversee program marketing efforts in collaboration with the Marketing Manager and relevant TAC team members.
  • Ensure compliance with child safety laws and other regulations affecting programming.
  • Oversight of contract teaching artists and teaching assistants including, onboarding, training, and paperwork processing.
  • Maintain art supplies for Community Arts Learning programs
  • Attend Community Arts Learning events to ensure quality programming.
  • Work with ED and Development Coordinator as needed for sponsorship and grant narratives
  • Develop, track, and evaluate impact data including participant numbers, hours of instruction, and other demographic data needed for grant and donor reports.
  • Convey program information internally and externally
  • Works with Visitor Services Coordinator to schedule coverage at community Arts Learning Events and community tabling

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Commitment to justice, equity, and transparency in all practices
  • Must be able to work unsupervised while still meeting all program goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience in arts administration and/or arts program coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop integrated arts activities and learning goals, outcomes, and evaluation metrics
  • Ability to work in fast-paced dynamic community settings.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience managing staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to track decisions transparently, ensuring inclusion in all policies and practices.
  • Proficiency in Spanish (spoken and/or written) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a non-fully ADA-compliant environment with accommodation assistance as needed.
  • Create, utilize, and navigate files across Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Google Drive
