3-Part Summer Series with the Oregon DOJ

This summer the Nonprofit Association of Oregon (NAO) is partnering with the Oregon Department of Justice Charitable Activities Section (DOJ) to offer a 3-part webinar series focused on nonprofit fundraising events, internal financial controls, and managing donor restrictions.

The Oregon Department of Justice Charitable Activities Section supervises and regulates the activities of charitable organizations in the state. This webinar series will provide an overview of information to help keep your nonprofit in compliance with the DOJ’s rules and regulations.

Oregon law requires that nonprofit corporations maintain appropriate financial records. Assistant Attorney General, Susan Bower will provide an overview of internal controls for small to mid-size nonprofits, with a focus on the evolving needs of the virtual workplace.

Handling Restricted Gifts

The proper management of restricted gifts is both a legal and public relations matter. Learn about an organization’s legal obligations when accepting restricted gifts and the ways in which an organization can better manage its donor relations around such gifts.
