Event Description

The Umatilla County Nonprofit Resource Roundup is a learning and networking opportunity convened by the Nonprofit Association of Oregon for nonprofit staff, board, and volunteers to connect, meet funders, and learn about valuable tools and resources designed specifically for nonprofits.

Work Session: Assessing Your Organization's Health and Vital Signs

After the funders panel and discussion, participants will work together through a facilitated discussion and an assessment tool to identify areas where you can improve your work and connect to resources that can help you become more effective in serving your mission. This exercise explores indicators of health in a nonprofit across the following areas:

  • Running a nonprofit organization
  • Board issues
  • Human resources issues
  • Operational issues
  • Fundraising and resource development
  • How to better include and engage clients

About the Facilitator and Funder Panelists

Panelist
Levi Williams, Associate Program Officer, The Ford Family Foundation

Levi Williams is an Associate Program Officer at The Ford Family Foundation. As part of a close-knit team, he assists with the Foundation’s strategies to support strong families and healthy children. He works with Foundation grant-seekers and other organizational partners from rural Oregon and Siskiyou County, Calif. Levi also conducts site visits of grant-seekers and advises grantees. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2018, Levi worked for Kellogg Springs Camp in Douglas County. He grew the camp, managed staff and supported a board of directors from across the Pacific Northwest. Levi has a bachelor's degree in education from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois. He grew up in Loveland, Colorado.

Cheryl Puddy, Program Officer, Central and Eastern Oregon, Oregon Community Foundation

Cheryl Puddy is Regional Coordinator and Associate Program Officer of Grants & Programs for the Oregon Community Foundation in Central and Eastern Oregon. She works with community leaders, nonprofits, their boards and volunteers to share OCF funding priorities and grant opportunities. Collaborating with OCF staff across the state, Cheryl works to convene regional partners around programs such as Central Oregon Latino Partnership, Community 101 Youth Philanthropy, in addition to Education and Arts & Cultural programs. Cheryl and her team of volunteer grant evaluators and scholarship readers help assure that Central and Eastern Oregon benefit from OCF’s statewide reach. Her history in Central Oregon and experience in the nonprofit sector provides a strong base in building relationships among a variety of individuals and organizations. Cheryl graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. in Education, returning to Bend and establishing several businesses’ while raising her family and enjoying all the outdoor offerings of the high desert.

Adrienne Graham, Owner, Leapfrog Training & Facilitation and Central Oregon Representative, Nonprofit Association of Oregon

Adrienne Graham is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of Oregon’s nonprofits. Adrienne brings planning, resources and focus to the passion, commitment and energy it takes to sustain and grow a nonprofit. Nonprofit clients consistently note that Leapfrog’s programs, retreats and workshops are relevant, engaging, and well-organized.

Adrienne has 23+ years providing training, facilitation and teaching in the public and private sectors. Prior to launching Leapfrog in 2005, Adrienne designed and delivered leadership and organizational development programs for The Ford Family Foundation's Community Leadership Program. Adrienne was a Senior Consultant for the Nonprofit Association of Oregon (NAO) team, serving Central Oregon and rural communities around the state. While NAO no longer provides consulting services, Adrienne continues her work with NAO, designing and delivering workshops and programs to strengthen rural nonprofits and support member services in rural Oregon.
