Session Titles & Descriptions (2-parts)

  1. Governance Plans: A Tool for Board Success and Transitions: This session focuses on exploring the benefits of a Board Governance Plan that clearly communicates the expectations, responsibilities, and protocols for all those involved in the governance function of a nonprofit. A Board Governance Plan is an opportunity for board members to define their culture, agree on how they will work together, set up how they will measure their success, establish a recruitment and orientation process, and calendar the work they need to do over the course of a year. A Board Governance Plan removes the guesswork on how the board functions and creates a plan for the board’s work that persists through board leadership changes.
  2. Basics of Grant Management: In this session, we will work to set ourselves up for success as we complete work funded by grants. Participants will explore strategies to help clarify goals and objectives (and how to track them!), develop a plan to monitor program/project progress throughout the grant period, understand how to show a program was successful & worth the investment, and explore strategies for building relationships with funding partners. (Note: This session has an emphasis on foundation grants rather than government grants, which have more extensive requirements related to compliance, financial management, and reporting).

There is no cost to participate, registration is required.
