About this event

For most nonprofits, grants don’t come from a single conversation or submission. They come from long-term, meaningful relationships… and knowing how to start those relationships can be one of the most intimidating parts of fundraising. Funder Roundtables at the Oregon Nonprofit Leaders Conference (ONLC) are a great way to jumpstart potential relationships, but with limited time in front of prospective funders, many participants wonder what to say, how to say it, and whether they’re making the most of the opportunity. With so much at stake, these conversations can feel overwhelming rather than hopeful.

This 90-minute, interactive webinar is designed to take the stress down a few notches and raise the impact by equipping conference attendees to show up prepared, make genuine connections with funders, and leave each conversation knowing whether there’s a fit.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Identify exactly what to prepare in advance and how to prioritize which funders to meet.
  • Introduce themselves, their organization, and their funding needs succinctly and authentically.
  • Ask thoughtful questions that build rapport and help determine mutual fit.
  • Navigate perceived power dynamics with confidence.
  • Follow up effectively and keep the relationship moving.

The session will be presented by Anna Beth Rucker of Tree Frog Solutions and will include guided exercises and optional, low-stakes opportunities to practice key elements of funder conversations. Attendees will leave with clear priorities, some practice already under their belt, and the confidence to make the most of the ONLC Funder Roundtables.

Cost

Free for ONLC attendees.
