About this event

Does your organization have simple, practical tools to manage financial ups and downs while strengthening support for rural communities? This interactive workshop brings together nonprofit leaders from rural coastal Oregon to learn with and from one another while strengthening organizational resilience. Participants will gain practical tools for managing financial volatility using simple budgeting and cashflow techniques, then explore fundraising and partnership strategies rooted in real-world rural experience.

Using structured peer learning, small group problem-solving, and case exchanges, attendees will develop methods to cultivate donors and build collaborative partnerships that maximize limited resources. Leaders will leave equipped with actionable insights, new connections, and shared strategies ready to implement immediately.

Learning Objectives

Financial Resilience

  • Recognize key drivers of financial volatility in rural nonprofits.
  • Use straightforward budgeting and cash flow tools to plan ahead.
  • Identify practical stability strategies shared by peers.

Rural Fundraising

  • Learn what works—and doesn’t—in rural fundraising from real peer examples.
  • Use peer-driven generated ideas to tackle current fundraising challenges.
  • Develop donor engagement strategies that fit small community relationships.

Strategic Partnerships

  • Map your partnership ecosystem and identify collaboration opportunities.
  • Explore real partnership challenges through peer case exchanges.
  • Create simple partnership models that maximize limited resources.

  • Leave with at least one actionable idea you can implement in the next month.
