Board Leadership & Financial Stewardship

Nonprofit board members and staff in Wallowa County are invited to a full-day workshop designed to strengthen leadership, clarify responsibilities, and build financial confidence. Whether you’re new to board service, a seasoned board member looking to refresh your understanding of governance and finance, or a senior staff member supporting a board, this training offers essential tools to help you lead with clarity and accountability.  

Morning Session: Board Leadership 

  • Gain a clear understanding of what defines a nonprofit and how boards support mission-driven work 
  • Explore board roles, responsibilities, and governance best practices 
  • Learn strategies for effective board management and collaboration 

Afternoon Session: Financial Stewardship 

  • Deepen your understanding of fiduciary duties and financial oversight 
  • Get hands-on with nonprofit financial statements, budgeting, and grant budgeting 
  • Learn practical tools for financial health, fraud prevention, and compliance 

Participants will leave with a stronger grasp of their leadership and financial roles, actionable tools to support their organizations, insights from local board leaders, and connections to others committed to strengthening local nonprofits.
